À savoir avant d'y aller

•
Arrival and timing

Make your way to the meeting point at 52 Calle de Santa Isabel and arrive a few minutes before your tour is due to begin. The guided tour runs for one hour and thirty minutes, so plan the rest of your day accordingly. Late arrivals may cause you to miss the start of the tour, so give yourself a comfortable buffer.

Getting around the museum

The Reina Sofía occupies a large historic building across multiple floors, with permanent collection galleries as well as spaces given over to temporary exhibitions. Your guide will lead the group through the relevant rooms, but be prepared for a fair amount of walking. Keep noise to a considerate level so all members of the group can hear the commentary clearly.

During your visit

Photography rules vary by gallery and artwork. Check signage in each room and follow staff instructions, particularly around major works.

Keep your phone on silent and avoid taking calls during the tour.

Food and drink are not permitted in the gallery spaces.

The museum has open spaces where you are free to explore independently once the guided portion has ended.
