• The Sphere opened in September 2023 on the Las Vegas Strip behind The Venetian. The venue is 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide making it the largest spherical structure in the world. Inside the 16K LED screen wraps 160000 square feet around the audience. The sound system includes 167000 individually controlled speakers delivering spatial audio from every direction. Each seat includes haptic technology that vibrates and moves with the action on screen.
• The production follows the story of the original film. Dorothy and Toto are swept from Kansas by a tornado and land in Munchkinland. They follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City meeting the Scarecrow and Tin Man and Cowardly Lion along the way. The Sphere's technology creates each environment around the audience. Wind and fog effects simulate the tornado. Scent technology adds atmosphere to key scenes. The haptic seats respond to footsteps and impacts and flight sequences throughout the show.
• The soundtrack features songs from the original film including Over the Rainbow reorchestrated for an 80-piece orchestra. The Sphere's 167000 speaker system delivers directional audio so sounds move around the audience matching the action on screen. Dialogue and music come from specific points in the wraparound display creating a fully immersive soundscape.
• The production is a collaboration between Sphere Entertainment and Warner Bros Discovery with visual effects by Magnopus. Producer Jane Rosenthal and VFX supervisor Ben Grossmann lead the creative team. The show combines original film footage with new digital environments created specifically for The Sphere's display technology.
• Wizard of Oz at The Sphere runs for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes with no interval.

Visitor guidelines

• The Sphere is located at 255 Sands Avenue Las Vegas NV 89169 behind The Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
• The Sphere is a 10-minute walk from The Venetian main entrance. Rideshare drop-off is available on Sands Avenue. Parking is available at The Venetian parking garage with validation available for show guests. The Las Vegas Monorail stops at Harrah's and The LINQ stations within walking distance.
• Doors open 45 minutes before your showtime. All guests pass through security screening before entry. Late seating is not permitted.
• The show is intended for guests aged 6+. The production includes loud sound effects and environmental effects including wind and fog and simulated lightning. Parents should use discretion for younger or sensitive children. All children must have a ticket.
• The Sphere is fully wheelchair accessible. Accessible seating is available throughout the venue. Assistive listening devices are available on request. Contact The Sphere box office in advance to arrange accessible seating and any assistance required.
• Bring your mobile ticket or printed ticket and a valid photo ID matching the ticket name. All guests must present ID for entry.
• Small bags and purses are permitted. Large bags and backpacks may be subject to additional screening or may not be allowed inside. There is no bag check at the venue.
• Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside The Sphere. Concessions and bars are available inside the venue before the show.
• Photography and video recording are not permitted during the show. Mobile phones must be silenced or turned off during the performance.
• Smart casual dress is encouraged. The venue is air conditioned.
• Wizard of Oz tickets at The Sphere cannot be canceled or rescheduled once purchased. Select your showtime carefully before completing your booking.
