Ticket guide
When to book London theatre tickets
There is no single cheapest day to book every show. A better approach is to understand what can change, decide how flexible you are and compare live availability before committing.

1. Book earlier when the date matters most
If you need a particular Saturday, holiday date or performance time, looking earlier usually gives you more seats to compare. This is especially important for a larger group that wants to sit together. Earlier does not guarantee a lower price, but it can preserve choice.
2. Stay flexible when value matters most
Visitors who can compare several dates and times have more ways to find a suitable starting price. Check midweek performances, matinees and different weeks. Always compare the actual seats and complete checkout total rather than relying on a headline from price alone.
3. Treat live availability as the source of truth
The calendar on an event page reflects the dates currently returned by the ticket provider. Availability can change between visits and a starting price may apply to only some performances or seat areas. Select a date and time to see the options currently offered.
4. Plan around travel and the venue
A low ticket price is not useful if the performance clashes with your journey or other plans. Check the venue address, expected running time and your route before booking. Leave additional time for busy central London travel and venue entry.
